In the current climate in the photographic industry, one frequently hears of business failure and down-sizing. Only occasionally is there some really good news!

"One super distributor in the imaging business"

In August 2005, a very innovative and bold move was announced. Three companies in the photographic industry have merged to form one super distributor in the imaging business. The new company SPS Logistics Ltd has been created by combining Crown Photosystems Ltd, Standard Photographic Supplies Ltd and Tudor Photographic Group Ltd into one company.

We are based in Southam in Warwickshire, operating out of a 35,000 sq ft facility, and will employ more than 60 staff. Bringing together the customer bases, product ranges and skill sets of the three entities will ensure a profitable and growing business from day one.

SPS Logistics Ltd is already in discussion with several leading names in the photo marketplace, with a view to providing the most professional out-sourcing operation in the business. Everything can be catered for, from warehousing pallets, to importing and distribution, through sales and marketing, to invoicing and cash collection.

The three owners of the new business - John Haugen (Crown Photosystems Inc, Seattle USA), Gordon Bott (Standard Photographic Supplies) and Robert Carr (Tudor) - have been committed to the seamless transfer of operations to their existing customers and to the future success of this new venture. They will be assisted at Board level by Finance Director John Armstrong and Operations Director Declan Mellett.
